EIT RawMaterials Alumni Board Elections 2024 - OPEN CALL for the Board PRESIDENT!
Dear EIT RawMaterials Alumni – it’s election time!
We are looking for our Alumni Board President who would like to take a leading role in creating the future of EIT RawMaterials Alumni by becoming the driving force of the Community and the Board.
This is your chance to shape EIT RawMaterials Alumni 👨🎓 and make sure your voice is heard! 🎤
What are the main responsibilities?
- Oversee strategic direction and vision by defining annual goals and activities
- Coordinate operations of the EIT RawMaterials Alumni Board
- Chair Board meetings, preparing agenda and strategy
- Attend quarterly EIT Board Alumni meetings online
- Ensure connections to the broader EIT ecosystem
- Identify potential collaborations and develop external business relationships
- Act as the public face of the EIT RawMaterials Alumni by representing our brand at various events, conferences, meetings etc.
- Regularly communicate with our Alumni via the platform
- Be flexible in support of other board members and initiatives
- Track our success and suggest workflow improvements
- Cooperate and report to the EITRM Alumni Coordinator
Board members keep in touch via regular online meetings throughout the year and meet face-to-face 1-3 times per year. In addition, you get to play a pivotal role in planning the key events in our calendar, such as EIT Alumni CONNECT, a crucial networking event.
➡️ Our goal is to ensure consistent regional representation and strong engagement within our Alumni Community. The initial focus is to develop a strategic plan of action for the remainder of 2024 into 2025 creating value for the EITRM Alumni Community members and also contribute to the financial sustainability of EIT RawMaterials.

The candidates’ applications and elections process:
Interested candidates please submit an application here: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/5HB22ZK until 8 April 2024 (noon CET) containing the following:
- Short description (max 300 words) presenting your educational and professional pathway, key achievements and working plans. Please, indicate which EITRM educational programme you have graduated from and when (to confirm your eligibility).
- Outline your vision and action plan (max 300 words) regarding the EITRM Alumni Board and the Alumni Community in 2024-2026, based on the role’s description, and upcoming challenges. Please, include information on how you are going to use your work experience and professional network of contacts.
- Recorded video (max 1 minute) introducing yourself and explaining why you want to lead the EITRM Alumni Board and Community.
Please, check the "General Election Regulations," which outline the eligibility criteria.
All the information provided will be publicly available for the purpose of the election on the Alumni platform, social media channels including EIT Alumni and Academy, as well will be presented to the Alumni Community via email for voting. All eligible candidates will be presented for open voting no later than on 10, April 2024. New board president will be elected via an anonymous online election by the Alumni Community. This will take place in April 2024. All Alumni Community members are eligible to vote. Voting will close at noon (CET) on 17 April 2024. There will be a handover Board meeting in May 2024.
Please note this position is voluntary, however, travel and accommodation costs related to participation in events are covered after consultation with the EITRM Alumni Coordinator.
The timeline is as follows:
Promotions and campaigns: Eligible candidates will have time to promote themselves and conduct their campaign. Even though creativity and competition are naturally part of the process, the campaigns should be implemented without detriment to the other candidates and without putting at risk the reputation of EITRM Alumni or EIT RawMaterials. Moreover, candidates promoting or appealing to religion, ethnicity, region, language, and faith will be automatically disqualified.
